Gender Equality

Gender equality, the equality of women and men, is in core of UNDP Armenia’s work since its inception in 1992. UNDP is one of the UN Agencies that promotes gender equality as part of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, including SDG 5 “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.” In Armenia, UNDP works through stand-alone projects such as Women in Local Democracy and the main pillars of its Country Programme 2016-2020, i.e. equitable and sustainable economic development, poverty reduction, democratic governance, environmental sustainability and resilience-building.
