The role of Social Entrepreneurship & Impact Investments for International Development OrganisationsOct 4, 2016
On 4 October 2016 UNDP, WWF, INSEAD and Rianta Capital organized a breakfast meeting in London for the members of social impact investment breakfast club network to discuss the role of Social Entrepreneurship & Impact Investments for International Development Organisations (IDO). The discussion was hold around various platforms and modes of addressing impact investments by IDOs.
Marcella Navaro introduced WWF-X - an innovative approach to accelerate impact by fast tracking sustainable innovations into relevant industries.
Prof. Hans Wahl from INSEAD elaborated on significance of social entrepreneurship in the economic development, while Artak Melkonyan from UNDP presented Impact Investment Vehicle platform addressing overall impact investment ecosystem and supporting social enterprises at all the stages of their development.
The upcoming IIDO Summit initiated by UNDP and INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Initiative has been referred as a platform to present and discuss various modes of supporting impact investments by the IDOs. The organizers invite all the relevant stakeholders - IDOs, social entrepreneurs, impact investors and governments to become partners, contribute and participate in the convention to be held in March 2017.
Representatives of Village Capital, Social Finance, Investing for Good, EBRD, Global Humanitarian Lab, Numbers for Good, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, Boncerto, Profit with Purpose, UnLtd, Oxfam and other impact investment field players based in UK and globally participated in the meeting.
