11 April 2016 – Today, Bradley Busetto, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, and Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, in the presence of Jeffrey Feltman, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, signed the UNDP Country Programme Action Plan between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and UNDP for 2016-2020.

The key objective of UNDP in the Country Programme Action Plan 2016-2020 is to contribute to the sustainable development and an equitable society in Armenia. The new document is “people-centered,” which means that human development is possible when people participate in decision-making processes and are empowered to contribute and share the benefits of economic growth in a sustainable environment.

UNDP will also work closely with the Government of Armenia in the post-2015 development framework, advocating for integration of Sustainable Development Goals into national programs and plans of Armenia.
