What are the global goals?

NEW GOALS. NEW POWER. NEW TECHNOLOGY. #2030NOW

This year’s Social Good Summit was the most connected yet. With over 100 countries and counting, Armenia also got in on the party; bringing together activists, artists, leaders and everyday citizens to grapple with the new global goals.

What Global Goals?

On September 25th, leaders from every country on planet Earth committed to 17 Global Goals (SDGs) to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years:

1  End extreme poverty;

2  Fight inequality & injustice;

3  Fix climate change.

At the Social Good Summit (September 27-28) people from all corners of the globe got involved, looking into how technology and new media can help us reach these goals.

Armenia

On 28th September Armenia also joined the global effort through a public launch event hosted by UNDP’s Social Innovation Lab, Kolba.

We gave the stage to some of Yerevan’s newest social start-ups, designed through user crowdsourcing and incubated at Kolba Lab.

The interactive talks each matched a Sustainable Development Goal, addressing a range of critical issues like social justice, energy sustainability, government accountability and urban resilience.
