    01 November 2013 – Today, the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) with its partner VivaCell-MTS, friends and partners, as well as media representatives celebrated the official opening of the Urtsadzor Eco-training Center. The Center has been constructed by FPWC with the financial assistance from UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme.

  • DHL prepares an airport in Armenia for emergencies Oct 7, 2013

    Bonn/Yerevan, October 7, 2013 - Deutsche Post DHL is taking its GARD program (“Get Airports Ready for Disaster”) to the Zvartnots international airport in the Armenian capital of Yerevan and the Gyumri regional airport in the northwestern part of the country. The training will take place from October 7 -10 and will prepare airport personnel and infrastructure for the special logistical challenges that accompany natural disasters. The training demonstrates how logistics capacities and local expertise can be optimally utilized, bottlenecks prevented and inbound relief supplies handled quickly and efficiently after an extreme natural event.

    Public consultations titled “Regulatory Guillotine Project in Armenia,” were held in May-June 2013 in Tavush, Shirak, Lori, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik regions. These forums targeted beneficiaries outside Yerevan and were aimed at presenting the Guillotine project to ordinary people, business communities, NGOs and local government representatives, and receiving their feedback on the challenges of current legislation, as well as hear their suggestions on possible improvements through interactive discussions.
