  • Steps Toward Green Economy in Armenia Dec 18, 2015

    Yerevan, 18 December 2015 - Poverty and environment in Armenia was the topic of the workshop that brought together representatives of UNDP, government institutions, private sector, academia, and international organizations. The initiative aims to contribute to poverty reduction and improved well-being of poor and vulnerable groups through mainstreaming the environment into national development processes. Attendees of the workshop discussed the UNDP-UNEP Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI) Technical Assistance Project Phase II.

    On the occasion of the Human Rights Day, on 10 December 2015, the UN in Armenia in partnership with OSCE office in Yerevan, Council of Europe office in Yerevan and EU Delegation to Armenia organized an unconference on human rights - HuRiCamp - at the American University of Armenia.

  • Women and Local Governance Dec 1, 2015

    Strengthening the synergies between the activities of the “Women in Local Democracy” (WiLD) project and the ongoing and planned national reforms in local governance (focused on women’s participation, and the application of principles of accountability, transparency and integrity (ATI) in local governance processes) were the main topics of the “Women and Local Governance” Community of Practice - a three-day workshop organized by the EU-funded and UNDP implemented WiLD project.

  • Ahead of Climate Summit in Paris Nov 30, 2015

    On 30 November UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Claire Medina and French Ambassador to Armenia Jean Francois Cherpantier were hosted by Nver Mnatsakanyan, the author of the “Interview” daily TV program broadcasted on Public TV of Armenia. The topic of the joint interview was the Climate Summit preparations in Paris, UNDP’s role in tackling climate change issues globally, and in Armenia, in particular.

  • Opening of the Dsegh Nature Visitor Center Nov 12, 2015

    On 12 November the opening of Dsegh Nature Visitor Center took place. The center was established by the joint efforts of UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme, the Rhone Alpes Regional Council in France, SVS BirdLife Switzerland, and the Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds.
