On 2 February 2016 at 11:00pm at the UN House in Armenia Kolba Innovations Lab held the launch event of a new project called "Innovation for development". The project is funded by the European Union and is implemented by UNDP in Armenia. The project was launched by introducing first Public Sector Innovation Week in Armenia, which would include a conference in the well-known TEDx format, “Kolba Cafes” meeting and workshops for high-level public servants.

Yerevan, 22 December 2015 – Until 2020, 45 bordering communities of Tavush region, with an overall population of 62,000, will have the opportunity to develop their own community plans, prioritizing activities - such as infrastructure and income generating activities - for financing within the framework of “Integrated Support to Rural Development: Building Resilient Communities” project, financed by the Government of the Russian Federation and implemented by the UNDP in Armenia, in close partnership with the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations. The project budget is over USD 5 million.
Steps Toward Green Economy in Armenia

Yerevan, 18 December 2015 - Poverty and environment in Armenia was the topic of the workshop that brought together representatives of UNDP, government institutions, private sector, academia, and international organizations. The initiative aims to contribute to poverty reduction and improved well-being of poor and vulnerable groups through mainstreaming the environment into national development processes. Attendees of the workshop discussed the UNDP-UNEP Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI) Technical Assistance Project Phase II.

The topic of the joint interview was the Climate Summit preparations in Paris, UNDP’s role in tackling climate change issues globally, and in Armenia, in particular.
Opening of the Dsegh Nature Visitor Center
