  • Impact Hub and UNDP launch the 2017 edition of Accelerate2030 May 16, 2017

    Armenia - Today Impact Hub and UNDP have announced the launch of the second edition of Accelerate2030, an international cross-border scaling program for impact-driven ventures. This year, ventures from 17 developing countries across 4 continents are encouraged to apply to this unique acceleration program: Armenia, Brasil, Cambodia, Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Myanmar, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe. The ventures must have successful track record and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Mitigating the consequences of hailstorms in Armenia’s agricultural sector May 5, 2017

    A trilateral Statement of Intent was signed between ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, the UNDP in Armenia and ARNAP Foundation – the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. The sides agreed to jointly mitigate the consequences of hailstorms in Armenia’s agricultural sector. Within the framework of the agreement, ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK will provide targeted loans to farmers for the acquisition of anti-hail nets on a 7-year term, with an initial interest rate of 12,5 percent. In its turn, the UNDP in Armenia will provide 20 percent of necessary volume of the anti-hail nets to farmers as a grant contribution. The ARNAP Foundation, supports farmers in measuring and installation of supporting anchors and anti-hail nets, as well as provides with consultations on maintenance, usage and care of anti-hail nets.

    Today, UNDP Delegation, led by UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Bradley Busetto, met with Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan. The parties discussed the directions of further cooperation for introduction of energy efficient approaches in daily practices within the context of city's further development paths.

  • Supporting Electoral Processes in Armenia Dec 2, 2016

    Yerevan, 2 December 2016 - Today, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Bradley Busetto and Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kiesler signed a cost-sharing agreement for the “Support to the Electoral Project in Armenia” (SEPA) project. The project is also supported by three other donors, the EU, US and UK, and the Government of Armenia. The project will support the introduction of voter authentication technology for the 2017 April parliamentary elections in Armenia.
