UNDP and the UN System

The UN has established its presence in Armenia in December 1992, subsequent to Armenia’s membership at the UN in March of the same year.

In capacity of the designated representative of the UN Secretary-General for development operations, Mr. Bradley Busetto, UNDP Resident Representative, leads the UN Country Team as the Resident Coordinator. UNDP, as a lead agency, provides overall leadership for UN strategic initiatives, coordinates development operations of UN agencies, funds and programmes in Armenia and promotes strategic support for national plans and priorities and makes operations more efficient. This helps the UN to be a more relevant and truly reliable partner for the Armenian Government.

The UN-Armenia partnership is regulated through the 2010-2015 UN Development Assistance Framework - a programme document signed with the Government of Armenia - which outlines the main areas of UN activities in the country, in line with national priorities.
